Jenny's first experience of animal care was volunteering with the RSPCA at Stapley Grange Wildlife Sanctuary and Cattery for 3 years. After much hard work, she graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2007 with a degree in Veterinary Science with distinction. Her primary interests are in small animal medicine, particularly endocrinology, gastroenterology and infectious diseases.
Before embarking on her companion animal career, she spent a fortnight in Kruger National Park, South Africa, completing an externship in wild game capture. This fulfilled a lifetime ambition to get up close to lions, rhinos, impala, zebra, widebeeste, and giraffe.
She then spent the first year of her career working for a PDSA petaid hospital in Wrexham, before moving to New Inn in 2008. She can frequently be seen walking her Collie cross "Monty" in the New Inn area. Monty also has a few awards of his own, in dog training, and a bronze level Good Citizen award with the Kennel Club, and is a seasoned traveller, having recently used his passport to travel to France.
Outside of veterinary medicine, jenny is a keen gardener, having recently harvested her first crop of potatoes, (with much excitement) and also enjoys walking in the area's outstanding Brecon Beacons.
